Overview
In Guinea Conakry, navigating financial services like transferring money or paying for utilities has traditionally been cumbersome and time-consuming. Imagine standing in line for hours just to make a simple payment, or struggling to find convenient ways to recharge your cable or electricity.
PayVite is a revolutionary digital platform designed to reshape the banking ecosystem in Guinea Conakry. Whether you’re sending money to family across town, buying airtime, paying for electricity, or topping up your cable subscription, payVite makes it quick and hassle-free.
Our vision with payVite was simple: to make financial transactions faster, easier, and more accessible to everyone in Guinea Conakry. In a market where many people still rely on traditional banking, payVite bridges the gap between outdated systems and modern convenience.

Challenges
How might we build trust and familiarity in a digital financial service in a region with low digital banking penetration?
How might we simplify the process of sending money, making it intuitive for users across different demographics?
How might we ensure security and transparency, given the challenges of trust in digital payments in emerging markets?
How might we make utility payments seamless and integrate different service providers into one platform?

My Process
My Process
Secondary Research
Because of language barrier and other obstacles, we couldn't carry out a proper research. The CEO had a chat with some intending users and although the insights we gathered was limited, we were able to identify the current options available to users and the current challenges with the existing platforms. After which we conducted a competitive analysis.
Competitive Analysis
I carried out a competitive analysis, and was able to identify 4 competitors (Orange Money, Ecobank Mobile App, MTN MoMo, and Wave) whose strengths and weaknesses I evaluated to understand how competitors operate and identify opportunities to make PayVite stand out.

Using the insights generated from the competitive analysis, I identified the key features to prioritize and the strategies that could further differentiate PayVite as a reliable, user friendly fintech solution for users in Guinea Conakry.
Recommendations
Offline Capabilities: USSD or SMS-based functionality for non-smartphone users in rural areas.
Fee Transparency and Optimization: Emphasizing low or no transaction fees.
Currency Conversion: Converting currency and enabling international transfer.
User Persona
From my research, I developed a user persona to maintain a user-centered approach throughout the project. This persona helps keep the user at the heart of decision-making, providing a clear profile that highlights their identity, goals, and frustrations.

During the brainstorming session, I mapped out features and functionalities that would best serve our users and used the MoSCoW to prioritize the features while keeping their goals at the forefront.
Key Features
Local transfer
Bill payments
Airtime and cable top-ups
International transfer (Coming Soon)
